About GardenStone
Bob Naymie is the founder and president of GardenStone. His
specialty has always been blending today’s technology with
yesterday’s craftsmanship. He has been a talented high-end
residential builder constructing award winning homes in Beverly
Hills and Malibu. He founded GardenStone in an artist
community in the Kootenays, B.C., where he started design with local
sculptors and production in his garage mixing specialty concrete.
Since then he has moved his facilities to Vancouver, expanding both
his production capabilities and his product line. Keeping up
with the latest garden styles, working with visionary designers and
having reasonable prices represent his commitment to bringing
affordable beauty to your gardens and homes.
Alex Sukhomlinov is the creator behind most of our classic European
collection. Alex is from Odessa in the Ukraine. For
generations his family has been doing the exquisite plaster molding
seen in museums and palaces. His family’s company did the
decorative plaster in the interior of Michael Gorbachov’s dacha.
We are fortunate he has turned his substantial talents to our much
smaller edifices.
Russell Hackney is the creator behind most of our contemporary
pieces. Russell is from Stoke-on-Trent in England, a region renowned
for its fine ceramics. He learned his trade from his father, and his
perfectly pitched use of balance and line have created pieces of
universal appeal. One of the highlights of his career was the design
and creation of a commemorative clock presented to the Queen.
Jack Richman is the operations manager at GardenStone. He has
the responsibility of overseeing the production of all the
intricately detailed pieces we have. His years of metallurgic
analysis in the mining industry bring a science to the art of
concrete production. We are lucky to have such competent hands
and eyes on our team.
